Wetenschappelijke getalnotatie op iPad in Notities gaat fout
Op school heb ik geleerd dat de lichtsnelheid ca. 300.000 km/sec is. Oftewel 3.10E5 (de E staat Exponent, met de . voor *) in de wetenschappelijke notatie, zo geleerd op de universiteit. Maar op mijn iPad-Notities bijv. wordt 3x10E5=3.000.000, een nul teveel. 3*10^5 wordt wel correct 300.000, =3*10⁵
Een bug lijkt mij in de wetenschappelijke getalnotatie op de iPad.
Ook andere websites maken die fout, calculator.name bijv. stelt: “The scientific notation 10e+5 is same as 10 x 10^5 or 10 x 105. Thus, to get the answer to 10e+5 as a decimal, we multiply 10 by 10 to the power of 5
= 10e+5
= 10 × 10^5
= 1000000”
No, 10e+5 is not 10 with 5 additional zeros or 1 with 6 zeroes, but 10exp5 is 10 with 4 zeros, and 1 with 5 zeroes in total.
And last but not least: superscript and subscript in plain text is not fully supported.
In numbers it goes well, 10^5=100.000 . But with letters in formulas it gives rubbish k^5=1 °C⁵, kletskoek in Dutch. Toon Vendrik, Bussum NL
